Why swirl marks show up so clearly in Texas sun
Swirls are fine scratches in the clear coat, usually left by automatic wash brushes or by wiping dust and pollen off with a dry towel. Under the strong Central Texas sun they show up as rings around every reflection, most of all on black, dark gray and navy paint.
Correction levels the clear coat with a machine polisher until those scratches are gone. We check each panel after an oil-free wipe, so what you see is the real finish and not a glaze that washes away in a few weeks.
Because it removes a very thin layer of clear coat, correction is best done once and then protected. A sealant and a regular hand wash keep it looking right.
